FAQ's
There is an evident rise in genital cosmetic procedures like vaginal bleaching. However, these procedures are not medically approved, and the safety and effectiveness have not been tested nor documented.
Some doctors are wary of vaginal bleaching because it poses potentially dangerous side effects from unprofessional procedures and incorrect aftercare. These harmful effects include vaginal burns, scarring, pain that lasts long, and painful intercourse among others.
The reason why one must avoid vaginal bleaching is because there are no regulations nor scientific evidence about its safety. The common side effects of vaginal bleaching are vulva and vaginal burning, swelling, irritation, inflammation, and infections like bacterial or yeast infection. Laser treatment, which is another form of vaginal whitening procedure, could lead to the loss of sensation or cause you to feel too much sensation or pain. If scarring occurs over the clitoral hood during the process, which is a possibility, it can make it difficult and painful to be aroused. Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do to find relief once this happens.
